My Story
After 10 years as a competitive downhill skier, and 3 years as a competitive Mountain Biker I decided to try my hand in triathlon. After a strong first season, I moved to Australia in 2003, to learn and train with some of the best triathletes in Australia. Upon my return in 2004, I had high expectations for my triathlon career. I decided to move to Calgary to train with Canadian Coach of the year Calvin Zaryski. After three years with Coach Cal, I am considered a professional now and I am still steadily improving. I have my sights set on a being a World Champion and to have a long career in triathlon.
I spent the winter of 2006-07 training and completing the educational requirements through the International Cycling Institute to obtain certification as an Advanced Dynamic Bike Fitter. My business, Tri Way, sees over 100 athletes per year; from World Champions to age groupers, Cat 1 through 5 cyclists, and recreation/wellness athletes.
Living in the beautiful Canadian Rockies in Calgary, Alberta, my life is wonderfully full. I'm studying Exercise Physiology and Psychology at the U of C while bike fitting and coaching the Tri Way athletes. As well as working at both Ridley's Cycle as a fitter and Tri-It as a product consultant. I also enjoy heading up to my home town of Jasper, AB, to go mountain biking, road riding, snow shoeing, white water rafting and many other adventure activities.
I feel it’s important to support youth in sport, so I volunteer whenever possible at local sporting events like “Kids of Steel” triathlons, swim meets, cross country running events, and youth biking events.
